Dylan Francis Vandemark has joined Underwriters Laboratories Inc.’s recently formed a Standards Technical Panel (STP). The panel will serve as the consensus body in the standards development process for fire containment products. The scope of the new standard will include requirements for fire testing, as well as performance criteria to evaluate battery fire containment products. The fire condition represented by the standard addresses the ignition of a battery powered device and combustible components and assemblies within an enclosure. Dylan’s expertise an experience in the field of fire suppression, as well as CellBlock’s interest in the development of a standard, earned him an invitation to the panel.
